By far and away the best place to stay in the valley is the good Öngulsstaðir III farmstay, whose friendly owners will make you feel at home. The pleasant rooms, simply decorated and en suite, are located in the former cow sheds, while the building, where delicious breakfast and home-cooked dinner is served, is a converted barn. There is also a good meeting-room and outside is a nice hot tub with wonderfool view over the valley. Get here by taking Route 829 (signposted to "Laugaland") up the eastern side of the valley, the guesthouse is located on your right hand side.
