Husafell
Husafell is a lovely, wooded lava area with a nice swimming pool, sauna and a 9 hole golf course, horse rental, organized walks and longer tours, such as glacier excursions and lava cave trips can be booked locally. The area also offers some excellent hiking with trails leading off into the Husafellsskogur forest. One of the main sites is the Hallmundarhraun lavafield which was formed when magma poured out from underneath the north western edge of the Langjokull and entered the Hvita, you are able to walk on the lava. The nearby Langjokull Glacier is a great location for skidooing.
